Yeesh, let me see...

I am the oldest of 3. Both parents deceased and the only real family left in my little circle are my sister and her two sons. All others are "estranged".

I am a Taurus with Aries rising. Caucasian Heinz 57, in other words; Mutt, yes, capital M, thank you very much!

I'm a pretty laid-back and quiet individual... unless you really piss me off... then the stereotypical bull/ram/native american/irish/scottish and red hair comes out like gangbusters, just *ahem* quieter. The 3 boys I raised (and their friends added their 2 cents) said that when I got upset, I had this "look" that sent shivers up their spines.

As you can see by my birth date, I've been around (in circles it seems) more times than I can count. And very set in my ways to boot.

Basically I'm a loner, so I'm not a very "social" individual, which means I have very few friends.

I listen intently and say very little (which is evident when you look at my LJ), but when I do, I speak my mind. Which also scares people for some reason. Although I did have one person say that it was my "Assertive butch demeanor".

Some have called me a "smartass" with a very "dry" wit. Some have called me other names, but opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.

I am a horrible speller and usually when I write anything, it's with a dictionary at my immediate disposal... however, I am not perfect and so therefore there are times it gets by me. I also, as my professor in college once offered... horrible with fractured sentences. Now... ask me if I care... My philosophy is "who made up these farkin' rules and why can't I make some up too? :D

I am single and have no desire to change that anymore.

No children----unfortunately that boat passed me by. Note: The 2 boys I raised were my employers kids (I was a nanny for 10 yrs) and one of my nephews and friends thereof.

A more in depth look at my "interests"...

I like the study of human beings. What makes us tick... why we act the way we do, especially when it comes to cultural and sexual norms and how they change through time. And yes, as a species, we're pretty fucked up... but funny as hell too! Great fodder for amusement.

In architecture, my main interest is in medieval/gothic/renaissance/victorian/traditional japanese... in fact, I'm pretty much into those time periods when it comes to cultural anthropology as well. I also like art deco and arts & crafts.

In gardening, my tastes run into most any type, but my favorites are woodland and japanese with some english gardens thrown in.

Movies? I like adventure, scifi, some horror (NOT slasher!), period pieces and comedys... I'm very picky with movies and would rarely go out to the theater and pay 10 bucks to see one. I think LOTR was the only movie I've seen in theaters in ages. I like the ability to stop a movie and get up, go to the bathroom, get munchies and smoke when I damn well feel like it.

Yes, I smoke, end of story, I make no apologies.

I'm not really into anime or comics, but there have been some that I've liked, like The Dreaming, Dawn, Inuyasha and Ai No Kusabi (I especially like Kira's "Taming Riki" FanFiction for Ai No Kusabi).

My favorite author of all-time? Robert A Heinlein. I love his character of Lazarus Long!

I LOVE comedy... but again I'm picky... my favorite comedians are; george carlin, richard pryor, stephen lynch, elaine boozler, carlos mancia, jon stewart, and I'm sure a few more that I can't think of right now.

With music I'm pretty eclectic, but I'm partial to Celtic. I do have a hard time with hard rock and rap... mainly cause I don't like anything too damn loud, has such a repetitious beat it rattles the brain or disrespects women. I love Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Tori Amos, Bette Midler, Streisand, Annie Lenox, Bowie, Kate Bush, Beatles...

I LOVE dragons, demons, angels, gargoyles (although I am extremely picky on how they are drawn)... oh, and dinosaurs.

When it comes to sightseeing... I especially like "day" drives... jumping into a vehicle and going out for the day just to enjoy nature, like spending time in a state park and have a picnic. I love spring rains and the fall season.

I do write... mostly for myself. I used to have a web page with around 30 different "rants", mostly of a political nature, however, we changed ISP's and I "lost" the site along with the computer I had it all saved on... and well... just haven't been ambitious enough to re-create the whole thing. I have a couple scifi novels I've got on the back burner and currently I'm working on my memoirs. But I'm such a procrastinator, God only knows if I'll ever finish any of them. I seem to do better with shorter works.

I love SLASH! The NC-17 kind. I have NO problems with the sexual act between consenting adults. WARNING: if you have a problem with that, then I would suggest you move on, this site will invariably piss you off. I'm pretty much OTP right now, between G/E of LoTR and S/I of Inuyasha... ya, I know, that ones 'incest'... they're also Japanese Dog Demons, so your point?

Animals... love em all. Favorites; the canine family, Others include sea creatures such as whales, dolphins and otters.

I'm not into sports... I just am not a competitive person... nor am I a "physical" person. I'm more calm and cerebral. I could get "lost" just "thinking".

Politically I can't identify with any group, although I've been accused of being a "bleeding-heart liberal". Sounds about right to me. But I believe in TOTAL EQUALITY for human beings... free speech, free medical care, free education with NO FUCKING interference from ANY religion! You keep quiet about yours and I'll keep my beliefs to myself as well. Don't come HERE thinking your going to edjamakate me... I've done that myself already, thank you very much. Besides, I was talking to God just the other day, and we were laughing about....

Well, that's really about it. Me in a nutshell. Phew... pretty long winded... LOL

Here are some causes, organizations, etc., close to my heart, which I had to edit because some are no longer viable *whimper*:

I grew up in foster care and could tell you stories that would make your head spin.
Even if you don't care to give your support to this particular organization, I'm sure there are others. There is NO excuse for not getting involved some how. Even if it's on a local level... these kids NEED us. And anyone who would like to see a broad ban of same sex foster care/adoption- *turns her back on you trying desperately to hang on any thread of sanity she has left* Let's just say, that if I was Glorfindel, I'd mistake you for an ORC.

Folks, it's the 21st century, isn't it time to live up to our own hype? I can't believe this is STILL an issue. The constitution of our beloved United States is CLEAR... We The People... no ifs, ands/or, buts. With separation of religion.
